10 Minute Recovery Exercise–Breathe, Release and Recover Timeout

Identify where stress has come to rest in your body, acknowledge the tension in your body or your mind. Now take 10 minutes for the following recovery exercise where you embrace a timeout by releasing of all tension throughout your mind and body.

Directions: Stand with your legs shoulder-width apart and solidly planted on the ground. Your arms should be loose at your sides, and your body should feel relaxed but balanced and strong.

Now lean forward from your hips and let your upper body hang down toward the ground, with your arms loose and fingertips dangling toward the floor.

Breathe deeply and relax your body incrementally so that your fingers come closer and closer to the floor and your hips soften and release your torso.

Close your eyes and visualize your body being completely relaxed.
