Self-Coaching: Exercise on Work-Life Balance

Coaching Session #4: Practicing Work-Life Balance

Challenge Assignment: Pick 1 fun activity for you and your significant other to do during next week. Discuss it and put it on your calendar.

Experimenting with the concept of Self-Renewal and Recovery: Using and practicing how to put more fun back into the “quality” of your work and family life is powerful exercise for putting back more work life balance into your daily living.

Oftentimes, during busy weeks stress and tension rise and we leave little time for recovery and just plain fun. As you look ahead to next  week, take time to pick one fun activity you can do with other people. Maybe it’s going with friends to a museum, attending a neighborhood get-together, or seeing a movie with your significant other. Once you’ve decided on the what, who what, where, and when, put it on the calendar.

Why is this challenge Important? Social and 1 to 1 activities are critical for our emotional and relationship health! When we connect with other people, it helps lower our stress level and even boosts our immune system. In fact, studies find that people who have strong social connections  and activities are happier even in old age, regardless of their physical health.
